It is my birthday on Tuesday and I am turning 21!!!!!!!! Yayness!

Many have asked me if I liked having a birthday so close to Christmas, but honestly it never bothered me because I always had a separate day for me regardless of how close it was to Christmas. Now that I am older, I see less of my family on my birthday and I often get birthday gifts on Christmas and while I mind my parents always have something for me to open on my birthday! So all in all, Happy Birthday to me and to all those that have a birthday in December and there are a lot of us!

It has been so long since my last journal, only there hasn't been much to say. School ended with alright grades. Life has been going and while there hasn't been any *guys* I'm still hopeful.

On a lighter note, I got my first real paying job! i am working at the local Renaissance Festival. An age and time I love! I get to dress up and everything. I start language training tomorrow! YAY!

But that is really it. Nothing really terribly exciting.

And Life continues...

Anyway, I know it has been awhile since i have updated, but there hasn't been much going on. I guess...

School has been a mess, but a good one. I'm taking two Creative Writing courses so that is fun. The intermediate Poetry and Creative Non-Fiction... So most likely that story won't end up of the web. Real names and all.

On a REALLY happy note. I WON THE Academy of American Poets Prize for Black Ink. I knew it was only a matter of time until I won something. (hehehe) I get a really Pretty certificate and a check! MONEY!!!!!!! Yay!

I have a few new stories up on Fanfiction if you want to take a look and if you do leave word so I know. the new Stories are "The Eldar which is finished and it's sequel "Antien" which is still in the works. That should be fun. ;-)

2007 has been a year filled with happiness, disappointment and sadness. The hours have been filled with school, family, and friends each with their own joys (both sarcastic and not). I guess this year I have grown to be more outgoing, fun loving, and looking for love. I watched as friends looked and both found love and disappointment as I found my own.

I put myself out there more than ever by submitting my work under my own name, only to be rejected both times. Yes, I was disappointed and more than a little upset, but it gave me an opportunity that I hadn't had before. To really know the pain before the joy really came. For my work anyway.

I made new friends and strengthened old friendships that needed a little work.

I loved my family and hung out with friends, even planned a vacation that despite every wish, we all knew wouldn't happen.

I found out what heartbreak felt like as I cried for the first time over a guy.

I once again realized the sting of sudden death. (More to come on this later.)

I met my nephew and met cousins I hadn't seen in 10 years, even when they didn't really talk to me.

I even took a cross country trip with only my brother mom and dad in the van. Amazingly no fights.

I realized the joy of knowing where you came from. I shed a few tears both of joy and sadness for those that came before me and made my life possible.

I stood up for my beliefs as my religion came under fire just because one candidate wasn't like the rest.

All in all it was an amazing year, and yet... I don't know... I wonder what is to come this year.

I got the letter from the contest and I am not a finalist. But you need to get rejected a lot before you get published and win contests.

School is over for another semester.... all I had was one out of class final and the rest were papers. Ah, the joy of being an english major...

Anyway, my birthday is in less that a week and I'm so excited!!!!!!!! I will no longer be a teenager. Whether thats a good thing or a bad thing is yet to be seen.

I think I posted another poem on ficiton press. So I will try to link it here. I really want to know what people think cause it helps my writing so much.

I find it hilarious that my brother turned out to be Malfoy in that Character quiz. That's so funny...

So all I have left to say is enjoy the poem and leave something so i know you liked it!

P.S. I have been listening to the Phantom of the Opera non stop for the past month.... am I sick of it? Not so much, but from this insanity may come another story. Dunno if it will be a fan fic or an original inspired by it. We'll all have to wait and see.
